Venezia è una delle città più fotografate al mon­do, ma non è vero che fotografare Venezia sia la cosa più facile. Non è vero che basta puntare a occhi chiusi da qualsiasi parte e scattare... No, ci vuole amore per la città, e appunto nei suoi scatti panoramici l’autore sembra voler condividere non solo i colori e le atmosfere della città, ma soprattutto il modo in cui lui la guarda, incluse le emozioni che scaturiscono da questo abbraccio fotografico.

Venice is one of the most photographed cities on earth, but it is not true that photographing Venice is such an easy thing to do. It is not enough to just point your camera in any direction with your eyes closed and release the shutter… No, it requires a love for the city, and, indeed, with these panoramic shots Marco Contessa seems intent on sharing not only Venice’s colours and atmosphere but, above all, his own way of seeing it—including the emotions stirred by this photographic embrace.
