The book is a study on Lewis Carroll's peculiar use of the figural in his works as a whole. After an introduction which concentrates on Carroll's heritage through the nineteenth century critical thought, the author analyses the development of Carroll's creativity both in his most famous proseworks and in his photographs and letters. The focus is on the many-faceted aspects of Carroll's nonsense and its cultural and contextual relevance.
